DISCOVER BOULDER

Set against the iconic Flatirons, Boulder blends outdoor adventure with a creative, laid-back spirit. From scenic trails and vibrant Pearl Street to acclaimed restaurants, local breweries, and a lively college-town energy, it’s a place that’s easy to explore and hard to leave.

THINGS TO DO

Chautauqua Park & the Flatirons Boulder’s most iconic outdoor spot sits right at the base of the Flatirons. Wander the grassy park, picnic with a view, or head out on trails ranging from easy meadow walks to steep climbs. Parking is free in fall, winter, and spring, while summer weekends and holidays bring paid parking and a free shuttle.

Lost Gulch Overlook Wind your way up Flagstaff Road to one of Boulder’s best mountain viewpoints. A short walk from the parking lot leads to sweeping views of the foothills and Continental Divide, making it a favorite spot for sunrise and sunset. Parking is limited, and vehicles registered outside Boulder County need a permit, so plan ahead.

Pearl Street This four-block pedestrian stretch is the heart of downtown Boulder, with local boutiques, restaurants, and sidewalk patios framed by mountain views. Street performers add to the fun, making it a great place to spend an afternoon or evening.

Boulder Creek Path & Tubing Follow this scenic path through town by foot or bike, passing parks, public art, and shady stretches along the water. In summer, join the local tradition of tubing down the creek, starting at Eben G. Fine Park. Check creek conditions first, since the water can be fast and cold.

Boulder Farmers Market A true Boulder tradition, this seasonal market fills 13th Street with fresh produce, local meats, and other regional goods. Grab a bite, enjoy the live music, and browse the stalls just steps from Boulder Creek.

NSF NCAR Mesa Lab Perched above town with sweeping views, this striking research center offers free exhibits about weather and climate, along with an outdoor weather trail. It’s an unexpected stop for curious minds and a great option on a stormy day.

Eldorado Canyon State Park Just outside Boulder, Eldorado Canyon is known for towering golden cliffs, scenic trails, and more than 500 technical climbing routes. Bring a picnic, hike along South Boulder Creek, or watch climbers on the canyon walls. Timed entry reservations may be required on busy days, so check before you go.
